Mission Statement

Basis Impact Group Foundation seeks to inspire the next generation of minorities and women in commercial real estate by exposing underrepresented youth to the career and wealth building opportunities that exist in the industry. Through its partnership with numerous professional real estate organizations, the Foundation’s educational program helps hundreds of young people access the potential of this essential but often exclusive field.

History

“When you grow up with an imagination, everything is possible.”

Since Basis Investment Group’s founding in 2009, CEO Tammy K. Jones envisioned leveraging the Basis platform in order to give back to communities in which the firm invests while uplifting young women and communities of color. Today, that vision has become a reality through the formation of the Basis Impact Group (BIG) Foundation.

REEX JumpStart Summer Program

The Real Estate Exchange (REEX) program is an educational program that exposes thousands of women and people of color to the Commercial Real Estate industry and helps them find their way into a field that has historically excluded them.

In partnership with several national Real Estate organizations and a growing list of universities, the REEX JumpStart Summer Program is creating a robust pipeline of diverse talent, that will transform our industry!

2023 C-Ride

It’s another exciting year where THE BIG TEAM is hosting its annual Commercial Real Estate Inclusion, Diversity & Equity Event (“C-Ride”)! Support BIG Foundation whose mission is to break down systemic barriers and improve diversity for African Americans and other racial minorities in the CRE industry.

Here’s How – become a sponsor or donor for our Commercial Real Estate Inclusion, Diversity & Equity Event that we call “C-Ride” OR sign up to participate (ride, walk or run) with us. This event is being held on Sunday, Feb. 26^th. You can participate on your own or feel free to gather with a group to participate in-person.

The C-Ride, is our way of pedaling or run/walking with a purpose. The BIG Foundation is dedicated to exposing thousands of people of color and women to the Commercial Real Estate industry and helping them find their way into a field that has historically excluded them. BIG Foundation has been a multi-year Sponsor of the Real Estate Exchange (REEX) program that has exposed nearly 750 African American and Latino high school students to the CRE industry. In partnership with several national Real Estate organizations, along with a growing list of universities such as, Cornell, Harvard, Howard, Marquette, MIT, NYU, Roosevelt, SMU and University of Miami, the REEX JumpStart Summer Program is creating a robust pipeline of diverse talent, that will transform our industry!

With your support, we can provide an opportunity for these talented diverse students, many of whom are economically disadvantaged.
